LAST MILE DELIVERY FORUM
SEPTEMBER 30 to OCTOBER 2, 2010
Allow Shippers and Service Providers Opportunities to Connect
WASHINGTON, D.C. July 23, 2010 – Shippers and service providers will connect for a two-day networking and educational event that runs from Thursday, September 30 to Saturday, October 2, 2010. Presented by the Messenger Courier Association (MCAA) the meeting –which was formerly known as the Executive Roundtable Series — is now called the “Last Mile Delivery Forum.” It will be held at the Westin Diplomat Resort & Spa in Hollywood, Florida.
“We’ve updated the focus of this meeting to meet the changing needs of our industry. That’s why it’s now called the Last Mile Delivery Forum”, says Chris MacKrell, MCAA’s president. “It’s become clear to us that there have been some dramatic changes in the industry that will have a huge impact in the future. This forum is designed to help service providers and shippers work together to meet the challenges these changes pose. We want it to be an open dialogue between these two groups for the benefit of both. As the industry continues to evolve, we see the role of our members shifting to become more integrated into the global supply chain. This forum is designed to give participants tools for moving forward in this environment.”
The Forum kicks off with an overview of industry is over the next five followed by panels presented by industry veterans. The Forum will cover such topics as facilities management, venture capital and shipper issues. Other workshops will include:
· Multi-Tiered Service
· Shipper Roundtable Meetings
· Medical Deliveries
· Technology in a changing world
· Pharmaceutical Distribution
Sponsorships are still available in the $2000 to $4000 range. Participants can still get booths to display to the over 300 attendees for $1000.
Registration is now in process for the meeting. Meeting costs are: $600 (before Sept. 1); $650 from September 2 to 21 and $700 after that. Pre-registration is advised, although some on-site spots may be available. Rooms must be book separately. The association has arranged a special group rate of $189.00 per night.
